Garbage Disposal Replacement
No Hassle Garbage Disposal Replacement
If you’re ready to replace your garbage disposal with a newer or more powerful unit, give us a call. We’ll do all the awkward bending and crawling into the kitchen cabinet, so you won’t have to.
If you prefer, before we replace your unit, we can see if a simple repair to the disposal can get it running again. If, however, the unit can’t be fixed, we’ll get started with the replacement. When we replace your disposal, we’ll remove the current unit and inspect for damage under the sink and in the cabinet.
Then we’ll securely install the replacement food disposal. Our technicians will inspect the new unit for leaks and test to see that it is functioning correctly.
You can provide the disposal, or we can bring one with us when we come. Give us a call to get started today.

What is a disposal
What does a garbage disposal do? How does a food disposal work?
A garbage disposal is a small “appliance” attached to the underside of your sink drain. A food disposal has a stationary blade attached above a spinning surface. As the surface spins, food touches the blade and is cut into small pieces. This ground up food is then able to travel through your drainpipes to the sewer system or septic tank.
Is it worth it to repair a garbage disposal?
If your garbage disposal isn’t working, you must decide whether to have the disposal repaired or install a new one. Deciding on the best option will depend on the age of your disposal, its physical condition, and the type of repair it needs. Most in-sink food disposals are reasonably priced and if your current disposal is not in good condition, it is often best to replace the unit.
How do I clean my garbage disposal?
Cleaning your food disposal can be accomplished simply by throwing a few ice cubes into the disposal periodically and grinding them up. This will dislodge any food remains that are stuck. In addition, using baking soda and vinegar to clean your disposal if it is smelling stale is a simply way to get it clean in a jiffy. Simply pour ¼ c of baking soda into the disposal then follow it with ¼ cup of white vinegar. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes then flush with water.
What shouldn’t be put in the garbage disposal?
Your garbage disposal is designed for grinding fruits and vegetables or other soft foods that may end up in your sink. Hard items like bones or egg shells should not be placed in the disposal. You also don’t want to put overly fibrous or starchy items in the sink since large quantities can clog the disposal or the drains and can even cause damaged drains.
Here are a few items we find mistakenly put into disposals. You shouldn’t put these items into your sink disposal:
- Onion peels
- Potato peels
- Pasta
- Oatmeal
- Coffee grounds
- Bones
- Corn husks or cobs
- Fruit pits
- Celery
- Produce Stickers
